Pedestrian Airlifted After Crash In Berkeley Senior Community: Police
The 94-year-old woman was crossing Jamaica Boulevard when she was hit by a driver turning left onto the road, police said.

BERKELEY, NJ — A 94-year-old woman was injured Friday when she was hit by a car while walking across a crosswalk in Berkeley Township senior community, police said.
The pedestrian, unidentified by police, was crossing Jamaica Boulevard near Bananier Drive in Holiday City Berkeley around 1 p.m. on Oct. 21, police said.
A Ford E150 van, driven by 55-year-old John Williams of Berkeley, was heading south on Bananier Drive and turned left onto Jamaica Boulevard, hitting the woman in the crosswalk, police said.

The woman sustained a head injury and lost consciousness, police said. She was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Hospital where she was listed as stable and treated for non-life-threatening fractures, according to police.
Williams was issued multiple summonses for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, improper turn, careless driving and unregistered vehicle, police said.

This crash is still under investigation by Ptl. C. Elliott and Ptl. S. Varady of the Berkeley Township Traffic Safety Unit.
