Planned Power Outage Scheduled Saturday In Berkeley

Part of Lacey Township may be affected as well by the JCP&L outage, Berkeley Township Mayor Carmen Amato said.

BERKELEY, NJ — There is a planned power outage set to begin about 2 p.m. in parts of Berkeley and Lacey townships on Saturday, Berkeley officials announced.

Jersey Central Power & Light will be shutting off power at its Pinewald substation, affecting five circuits, at about 2 p.m. to make repairs to equipment at the site.

The outage is anticipated to last about 15 minutes, an announcement from Berkeley Township Mayor Carmen Amato and the Berkeley Township Office of Emergency Management said.

The outage will affect parts of Berkeley and northern Lacey. Residents who may be affected were notified by a reverse phone call on Friday, officials said.
