Police Conduct Massive Search In Berkeley For Manchester Woman

Amanda Picard hasn't been seen since Feb. 5 at her grandmother's home in Berkeley Township.

MANCHESTER, NJ -- More than 50 police officers from multiple local and state law enforcement agencies conducted a detailed canvass on Wednesday in search of a missing township woman, Amanda Picard, Manchester police said.

Picard, 24, was last seen Feb. 5 at her grandmother's home in Holiday City at Berkeley, Manchester Capt. Todd Malland said.

The search, conducted in Berkeley, did not yield any new information as to her whereabouts, Malland said. Officers searched abandoned houses and handed out more than 700 fliers within a one-mile radius of Picard’s grandmother’s home, where she was last seen. New jersey Search and Rescue, the New Jersey State Police and the Bergen County Sheriff's Office provided K-9s units, he said. Manchester Township officers were joined by officers from Berkeley Township, the Ocean County Sheriff's Office, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Bergen County Sheriff's Office, the New Jersey State Police, and New Jersey Search and Rescue,

Additionally, Berkeley Township’s underwater search and rescue team was available to search any bodies of water in the area, Malland said.

As initially reported, Picard was dropped off by her parents at her grandmother’s home for the weekend on Feb. 5 and has not been seen since, Malland said. She does not have an active driver's license or own a vehicle and there is no possible destination information available. Furthermore, she left the residence without her cell phone.

Amanda Picard is described as a white female, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 130 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair.
