MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Stafford Township residents have an opportunity to support environmental sustainability while helping local families this April.
The Stafford Township Green Team has announced its annual Second Chance Toy Drive, an initiative designed to keep plastic toys out of landfills. The event encourages community members to give toys a second life by donating items they no longer use.
By participating in this program, residents can help reduce waste and provide new play opportunities for children in the area.

The drive will take place at the Bay Avenue Community Center, located at 775 East Bay Ave. in Manahawkin. The collection phase of the event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18.

Residents may drop off their donations during the morning hours, specifically from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Those wishing to donate items must ensure that the toys are made of plastic, clean, and free of any broken or missing parts.
The second phase of the event, the toy giveaway, will follow on Sunday, April 19. During this time, families are invited to visit the Bay Avenue Community Center between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.to pick up free toys for their children.
This portion of the event allows community members to browse the donated items and select toys for their families to reuse and enjoy.
The Green Team emphasizes that this program serves as a practical way to support recycling efforts within the township. By facilitating the exchange of gently used goods, the event helps divert plastic waste from local disposal sites.
