Students of The Dance Centre Compete Against "Dance Mom" Girls

South Toms River, August 10, 2013:  A group of students from The Dance Centre competition team were selected to perform in the Starbound National Talent Competition, held at the Dr. Dominick A Potenta Performing Arts Center in Margate.  This was a benefit performance with all proceeds going to the Dancers Care Foundation.

A total of five dance studios throughout New Jersey were selected to compete at this exclusive event.  The event featured the moms and girls of the Lifetime’s channel “Dance Moms.” The event also raised $14,000 for the Dancers Care Foundation which provides funding to doctors and researchers for innovative clinical and genetic research for all cancers.

Students from The Dance Centre that competed in this event ranged in ages from 7 through 14.  Senior girls (13 &14 years of age) had the privilege to dance in the opening number with the girls from “Dance Moms,” choreographed by Abby Lee Miller.  The Lifetime channel was filming the event to air sometime in October.
