The preliminary investigation found the driver, Noah Maitland, 27, from Randolph, was driving a 1979 Corvette westbound on Meadow Road, said Bedminster Police Lt. Thomas Polito.

"The vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, drove up an embankment, hit a tree, and came to rest in the woods," said Polito.

Maitland was ejected from the Corvette, said Polito.

Maitland was taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The passenger, a 25-year-old man from Bridgewater, was taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Bedminster Township Police Department, as well as the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, is investigating.

Anyone with information regarding this motor vehicle crash is urged to call Detective Del Colle at the Bedminster Township Police Department at 908-212-7000 or the Somerset County Tip Line at 1-888-577-8477.
