Alleged Bedminster Home Burglar Arrested

Bedminster, NJ - A man responsible for two home burglaries on Union Grove Road in Bedminster has been arrested.

Anthony Troyano, 42, of 119th Street, New York, N.Y. has been charged with two counts of 3rd degree Burglary and one count of 2nd degree Theft by Unlawful Taking, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Acting Chief of County Detectives John Fodor, and Bedminster Township Chief of Police Karl M. Rock announced.

The two burglaries were reported on June 22 on Union Grove Road and detectives from the Bedminster Township Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Burglary Task Force began investigating.

Jewelry and passports were taken from the first home and a safe containing jewelry, passports, checkbooks and a mahogany box containing the ashes of the family pet were taken from the second home, according to the prosecutor's report.

A black four-door sedan was observed at both residences during the time of the burglaries, according to Bedminster Police.

Video footage from a residential security camera was able to show Troyano and he was recognized by Task Force detectives. The vehicle used in the burglaries was found to have New York license plates and was registered to his mother, according to the prosecutor's report.
