Bernardsville Library to Screen "Cowspiracy"

A look at the environmental impact of large-scale factory farming on our planet and a path to global sustainability.

"Cowspiracy," a groundbreaking environmental documentary, will be shown at Bernardsville Public Library on Sunday, November 13 at 3:00 pm. Made in 2014, the movie offers a look by filmmakers Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn at the devastating environmental impact that large-scale factory farming has on our planet and offers a path to global sustainability for a growing population.

It is the filmmakers' contention that animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution; is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry; and is a primary driver of rainforest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean “dead zones,” and virtually every other environmental ill. Yet the industry goes almost entirely unchallenged by leaders in the environmental movement. The movie has been called "as inspiring as 'An Inconvenient Truth.'"

There is no charge to attend the program, but advance sign-up is requested. Register online at www.bernardsvillelibrary.org and follow the link from Adult Programs, or call the library at 908-766-0118 to sign up.
