BHS Jazz Band Holiday Gift CD on Sale Now to benefit "Give Kids the World"

A special Bernards High School “Holiday Gift” CD was produced and performed by the BHS Jazz Band to benefit “Give Kids the World,” a non-profit organization located in central Florida that exists only to fulfill the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families from around the world.  CDs will be available to purchase until December 20th - while supplies last - at the Bernards High School Main Office at 25 Olcott Avenue, Bernardsville.  They cost $20 each; $15 for 2 or more with 100% of the proceeds going to Give Kids the World.

BHS Music Director Trumpy and the rest of the group would like the music (completely performed and produced by the students) to spread the joyful spirit of the holidays throughout Bernardsville and beyond, while successfully raising money for the worthy cause.  “We hope it brings good cheer to you and yours,” Trumpy said, “as you celebrate this year, and in years to come!”
The student musicians have squeezed rehearsal and performance time in-between weekend band competitions, playing for regular football games, and of course, their classes, tests, homework and other after school activities.  You’d think they’d be exhausted by now.  Luckily, sources of their high energy for this jazzy holiday fundraiser were excitement, pride and desire to help “Give Kids the World.”

Bernards High School “Holiday Gift” may also be purchased at all Somerset Hills School District school holiday performances:  BHS Choral Concert, December 19th, held in the Bernards High School Performing Arts Center; Bernards Middle School Choral Concert, December 17th.  Bedminster Band Concert, Choral Concert - December 18th.  All performances begin at 7 pm.

Trumpy and company hope that word will spread beyond Bernardsville about their unique project, and that family members and others from surrounding areas will purchase several CDs  as gifts for family and friends.  For more information about the project, and to sample a tune or two, please visit www.bernardsband.org.
