Fully Engulfed Building Spotted By Cop In Bernardsville
An officer on patrol discovered the fire, which had been burning for some time, on Hardscrabble Road in Bernardsville.
BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — A keen-eyed police officer spotted a building fully engulfed in flames in Bernardsville early Wednesday morning.
At around 3:30 a.m. Mendham Township Police Officer Katrina Jenisch was on patrol and checking back roads when she saw a structure fire just over the township border on Harscrabble Road in Bernardsville.
The fire "had been burning for some time," said police.

Jenisch quickly alerted dispatch, who contacted the Bernardsville Police and Fire departments.
The Bernardsville Fire Co. No. 1 & First Aid Squad arrived within five minutes to a well-involved recreational outbuilding.

The fire was gas-fed, requiring PSE&G to come out, according to the fire department.
Firefighters were on scene for an hour and 45 minutes. No injuries were reported.
"Thanks to Off. Jenisch's actions, the responding Fire Departments were able to put out the blaze and prevent the fire from spreading to other structures nearby," said the police department.
Along with Bernardsville Fire, Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department, Liberty Corner Fire Company, Basking Ridge Fire Co. No 1 & EMS, Pottersville Volunteer Fire Company, Pottersville, NJ also came to help.
