Introducing the New Met Breuer: Museum Lecture at Bernardsville Library
Art historian Vivian Gordon will speak about The Metropolitan's new exhibition space, the Met Breuer, and the inaugural show, "Unfinished."

The opening of the Met Breuer in the landmarked former home of the Whitney Museum is one of this year’s major events in the art world. On Thursday, June 23 at 7:30 pm at Bernardsville Public Library, Vivian Gordon, art historian and long-time lecturer in the Education Department at The Metropolitan Museum, will introduce listeners to the Breuer and talk about "Unfinished: Thoughts Left Visible," the inaugural show at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s new space. Combining examples from the museum’s own collection and many extraordinary loans, the show is an intriguing exploration of the different reasons that works are left incomplete or just look that way.
The Met Breuer, which opened in March this year, provides additional space for the public to explore the art of the 20th and 21st centuries through the breadth and historical reach of The Met's unparalleled collection. Its contemporary art program will include a new series of exhibitions, performances, artist commissions, residencies, and educational initiatives in the building designed by Marcel Breuer on Madison Avenue and 75th Street.
There is no charge to attend the Library program, but advance sign-up is requested. Register online at www.bernardsvillelibrary.org and follow the link from Adult Programs, or call the library at 908-766-0118 to sign up.
