Art exhibition of landscapes and florals by Berkeley Heights resident Eileen Bonacci at Bernardsville Library.

Landscapes and florals by Berkeley Heights resident Eileen Bonacci will be on exhibit at Bernardsville Public Library during the month of December. Her opening reception will be held on Sunday, December 3 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Ms. Bonacci has had a lifelong passion for art and the beauty of nature. Working mostly with oils, she has produced many beautiful floral paintings and many landscapes from her travels in the U.S. and abroad.
Ms. Bonacci attended the duCret School of Art, Visual Art Center of New Jersey and continues at the School of Contemporary Art. Her work has been shown at the duCret School of Art, Swain Gallery, Renee Fosner Gallery, Morristown Library and the Visual Art Center of NJ. She has had solo exhibits at the Berkeley Heights, New Providence and Bernardsville Libraries, Hopewell Valley Vineyard, Overlook and Morristown Hospitals.
From 2013 to 2017, Ms. Bonacci helped develop an art program at Overlook Medical Center's Thomas Glasser Caregivers Center in Summit, NJ. Here she provided a creative outlet in times of stress for family caregivers offering weekly art classes. From 2015 to 2016, she completed a Wall Mural in High Bridge, NJ depicting historical scenes of the town.

In 2017, Ms. Bonacci won first place in the Human Altered Landscape Category at the Tewksbury Art Exhibit with a painting called "Vito's Market." Judges were Andrea Gianchiglia and Joel Tidey. In 2012 and 2013, she won first place in oil painting at the Union County Senior Art Show. Her work was also displayed in the Freeholders Gallery in Elizabeth. She won honorable mention in the State competition in 2013.
The exhibition at Bernardsville Library will be on view from December 1st to 28th during regular library hours unless a meeting is in progress. For further information, call the library at 908-766-0118.

Note: Vito’s Market was a market in Berkeley Heights for years. Last year it was torn down after the owner passed on. Vito would leave a box on his stand at night and people could purchase fruits and vegetables using the honor system. The owner left the land that his house and Market were on to the township to build a park.
