Protestors Welcome Trump In Bedminster

BEDMINSTER, NJ — President Donald Trump received a not so friendly welcome by protesters on Thursday night as he made his visit to his golf course in Bedminster.

The President is expected to stay at Trump National Golf Course located at 900 Lamington Rd in Bedminster through Monday, May 7.

New Jersey Working Families Alliance protesters kicked off their "Summer of Resistance" campaign by lining all of the overpasses along Interstate 78 on Trump's route to his Bedminster golf course on Thursday night.

Protesters displayed signs stating "Dump Trump," "You're Fired," "Patriots Resist Trump, " "Fight White Supremacy" and more.

"We begin our Summer of Resistance as Trump descends into the Garden State to spend his weekends at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, and we gave him a 'Jersey Style Welcome!' " New Jersey Working Families Alliance stated.

Bedminster Police Chief Karl Rock issued a release on Thursday stating his department is "prepared for the upcoming visit."

He also noted that there is no safe public area along the roadside to congregate in the immediate area of Trump National Golf Course located at 900 Lamington Rd in Bedminster. And suggested those wishing to visit Bedminster to express their first amendment rights to use the property at the corner of Route 206 and Lamington Road as the safest area.

Other protests are also being planned by UltraViolet — a women's advocacy group — that will promote its “More Popular Than Trump” campaign by saturating the Bedminster media market with all things that are more popular than Trump, such as abortion access.
