“The owner of the store was able to retrieve video surveillance which shows a male throw an object in a white bag at the glass door once and then walked west on Bloomfield Avenue at approximately 11:50 p.m.”

7-ELEVEN BURGLARY

Police said:

“On April 11 at approximately 3:07 a.m., officers were flagged down by a passerby in a vehicle who observed that the front door of the 7-Eleven located at 630 Bloomfield Avenue was broken. Officers responded and observed the front glass door was broken and unlocked.

“Officers entered the establishment to search for any suspect(s) which was negative. After reviewing the in-store security footage, officers were able to observe an individual approach the store at approximately 12:16 a.m. The individual was carrying several white plastic bags which appear to contain a heavy object. He then strikes the glass door several times with the bag, shattering the glass and creating a hole that he can then use to fit his arm through and unlock the door.

“The suspect then enters the store at approximately 12:20 a.m., goes behind the counter and begins placing packs of cigarette and cigarette cartons into the white plastic bags he is carrying. After several minutes, the individual exits the store on foot towards Bloomfield Avenue. A picture of the suspect is below. If anyone can assist in identifying this suspect, contact Det. James Peri at jperi@bloomfieldnjpd.com or call Bloomfield Detective Bureau at 973- 680-4084.”
