2 Cars Stolen In Bloomfield; Vehicles Left Running, Police Say
More vehicle thefts involving running cars have been reported in Bloomfield, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — More vehicle thefts involving running cars have been reported in Bloomfield, police announced Tuesday.
Earlier this month, the Bloomfield Police Department warned local residents and visitors to take steps to prevent vehicle thefts and burglaries, citing several recent incidents involving cars that were left running or unlocked. Such cases continue to be reported in the township, authorities say. Bloomfield police released the following statements about two recent vehicle thefts:

Jan. 21 - “The complainant walked into police headquarters to make a report of a stolen motor vehicle. The complainant left his rented 2020 Lincoln Continental in the area of Bloomfield College running with the keys inside. While the complainant was walking back to the vehicle, it was seen leaving the area. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen. This incident is under investigation.”
Jan. 23 – “Officers responded to 122 Bloomfield Avenue (7-Eleven) on report of a stolen vehicle. The operator left his 2018 black BMW 540 running and unlocked in the parking lot while he entered the store. When he returned to his vehicle it was seen pulling out of the lot. The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen. This incident is under investigation.”
