3 Half-Days Announced For Bloomfield Schools: Snow Day Update

Bloomfield students will have three more half-days before the end of the school year.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield students will have three more half-days before the end of the school year, district administrators announced this week.

According to Superintendent Salvatore Goncalves – due to the last day of school being moved to Friday, June 23 because of unused snow days – the following dates will now be half-days for students:

  • Wednesday, June 21
  • Thursday, June 22
  • Friday, June 23 (last day for students and staff)

Last month, the Bloomfield Public School District said it is “giving back” three unused snow days to students and parents for 2023. All Bloomfield schools will be closed on the following days:

  • Friday, May 26
  • Tuesday, May 30
  • Monday, June 26

“Due to the lack of hazardous weather during the 2022-2023 school year, we were allowed to open our buildings for students and staff each day with essential coordination from our maintenance and custodial team,” Goncalves previously said. “With that, we have three ‘unused’ snow days we would like to give back as ‘days off.’”
