Princeton, a new college graduate, can’t afford
to live anywhere but Avenue Q, a city neighborhood where reality includes a mix
of human and puppet neighbors. Unlike
Sesame Street, however, life for the residents of Avenue Q is full of grown-up
obsessions and problems, uncertain outcomes, and extreme irony; the search for
purpose is a difficult one.
NOTE: The
show is definitely rated R for language, full puppet nudity, and the inclusion
of adult themes such as racism, pornography, homosexuality, and schadenfreude,
not to mention Gary Coleman!
