Next Fall takes a witty and provocative look at faith, commitment and unconditional love. While the play’s central story focuses on the five-year relationship between Adam, a confirmed atheist, and Luke, a devout Christian, it goes beyond the typical love story. Following a serious accident, Adam must reassess his views and seek support from Luke’s family and friends. Next Fall is a timely and compelling play that asks the audience to examine what it means to “believe” and what it might cost us not to.
Of Next Fall, Ricks-Spencer says “I saw this piece a couple of years ago and was immediately struck by the simplicity at the core of a story—that every relationship requires a leap of faith—and the very complex political and religious viewpoints which entangle the story.
