BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A burglary and two attempted burglaries were recently reported in Bloomfield, authorities say.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident:
BURGLARY
Someone recently "ransacked" an apartment that was vacated in March after a roof collapse, police said.
Officers responded to Park Place on Aug. 8 after getting a report about a burglary.
The resident said he left his apartment after the roof collapse. On July 11, he returned and left the door unlocked so a construction crew could have access. When he came back on Aug. 8, he found the apartment ransacked and items missing from the drawers.
A police investigation continues, authorities said.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARIES
Two attempted burglaries were reported on the same street in Bloomfield earlier this month.
Police released the following details about the incidents, which were reported Aug. 4 on Prospect Street:

A resident provided surveillance video from Aug. 1 of a male attempting to gain entry into the residence through a window. The suspect broke the screen but was unable to gain entry.
