'Deteriorating' Pond In Bloomfield Is Being Restored: Here's The Plan (patch.com) — Bloomfield residents will soon see major work at Halcyon Pond as the township launches a four-phase restoration to fix sediment buildup, damaged liners, and failing infrastructure. Crews will remove non-native fish, dredge the pond, repair structural elements, and then refill it with permitted species and new aquatic plants. Officials say the goal is to restore this neighborhood "hidden gem" as a healthier, more enjoyable spot for local walkers and nature lovers.
   

2. Harvest Fest In Bloomfield Will Include Music, Food, Family Friendly Fun (patch.com) — Bloomfield's free Harvest Fest is set for this Saturday in Bloomfield Center, filling Washington Street and Glenwood Avenue with live music, kids' activities, and nearly 100 vendors. With a beer garden, bouncy houses, face painting, and easy parking, it's designed as an all-ages afternoon out right in the heart of town, with a rain date on Sunday if needed.

Wonderful Gridiron Rivalry Between Bloomfield and Nutley Renews for 74th Time on Oct. 9; Remembering the Friendship Between Coaches Carter and DiGregorio (TAPinto.net) — Bloomfield football fans can circle Friday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m., when the Bengals host Nutley at Foley Field for the 74th meeting in this storied rivalry. The story also looks back on the deep friendship between longtime coaches Mike Carter and the late Steve DiGregorio, and how their shared history helped shape decades of memorable Bloomfield-Nutley matchups.
   

4. West Orange Daily Buzz: Oct. 6, 2026 (jerseybee.org) — If you use the Libby app through Bloomfield Public Library, you'll soon need to enter your library password starting Oct. 8, so make sure you know it or contact the library to reset it.
