Another Large Cooking Oil Theft Reported In Bloomfield: Police

Someone stole $500 worth of old cooking oil from the rear of a local pizzeria, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Someone stole $500 worth of cooking oil from a Bloomfield restaurant last week, police said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to 80 Bay Avenue (Zi Zia Pizzeria) on Oct. 26 after getting a report about a theft.

Police said that at some point between Sept. 24 and Oct. 26, someone stole old cooking oil from the rear of the restaurant. The estimated value of the oil was $500.

“This incident is under investigation,” Bloomfield police said Thursday.

It isn’t the only time in recent history that such a theft has taken place in Bloomfield. Earlier in October, a man driving a truck with a Texas temporary license plate allegedly stole more than $800 worth of cooking oil from an establishment on Franklin Street.
