Two attempted burglaries were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities say.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Two attempted burglaries were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities say.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident:
Oct. 16 – “Officers responded to the area of George Street on report of an attempted burglary. According to a resident, a male used the neighbor’s rear yard to enter his rear yard. The male then attempted to gain entry into the home through the rear sliding door and a rear window. Once the male was unsuccessful, he returned to a vehicle that was waiting and fled the area. This incident is under investigation.”

Oct. 20 – “Officers responded to 73 Belleville Avenue (Krauszer's) on report of an attempted burglary. The store owner received a notification from his alarm company for a motion at the business. After responding to the location, the store owner noticed that the rear doorknob was removed and the top lock was unlocked. A screwdriver was also left behind on the steps. The attempt to gain entry was unsuccessful due to a deadbolt lock. This incident is under investigation.”
