BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A pair of men wearing ski masks and carrying bookbags robbed a 7-Eleven in Bloomfield at gunpoint earlier this month, police said.

On Friday, Bloomfield police announced that a robbery took place at the 7-Eleven on Bloomfield Avenue at 8:40 p.m. on Jan. 6.

During the robbery, one of the suspects fired a single round at the ceiling. After firing, he picked up the shell casing, then jumped over the counter and emptied the contents of the cash register into a bookbag, police said.

Police said the other suspect was a male about 25-years-old, wearing a grey-hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.

Authorities released surveillance photos of the two men, along with photos of a BMW allegedly used in the robbery (see below).

Police said the vehicle doesn’t have a front license plate or an inspection sticker in the windshield. Its passenger side front turn signal isn’t working, and the side marker and rear passenger side turn signal blink very rapidly.
