In Bloomfield: Bread Delivery Driver Robbed At Gunpoint, Pistol Whipped

The victim was preparing to unload a truck to make a delivery when a male suspect got in the truck and pistol whipped him, police say.

Bloomfield, NJ – Bloomfield police reported that a bread delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in the rear parking lot of the Hispano American Supermarket at 25 1st Avenue on May 11.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the victim was preparing to unload the truck to make a delivery, when the suspect - described as a male wearing a black mask – allegedly approached and entered the truck.

The suspect then pistol whipped the victim after demanding his wallet, police said.

Authorities stated that the victim was able to escape by running out of the truck, although the suspect fired five rounds at them. None of the shots hit the victim, who was able to flag a taxi and notify the police about the incident shortly afterwards.

The suspect then entered a green Ford Explorer and fled the area, police said.
