Bloomfield Business Burglarized, Window Smashed: Police
A local business owner was in the back of his store when he heard glass breaking, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police are investigating a burglary that took place at a business on Franklin Street, authorities announced Thursday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following statement about the incident, which took place on Oct. 27:
“Officers responded to 50 Franklin Street (NJ Gold Spot LLC) on a report of burglary in progress and a glass break alarm. The business owner was in the back of his store when he heard the glass break in the front of the store. He then observed male suspect(s) retrieving items from the front window display. When the suspects heard the owner, they fled east on Franklin Street.”
According to police, video surveillance showed that a black Volkswagen Jetta and a red Nissan Sentra pulled in front of the store at 1:22 a.m., and four men got out of the vehicles.

One of the men – who was wearing a blue or black-hooded sweatshirt with “College of New Jersey Football” printed on it – was seen smashing the display window with what appears to be a crowbar. He then took merchandise from the shelves, authorities said.
Police said the other three suspects were wearing a blue or black-hooded sweatshirt, a gray-hooded sweatshirt, and a red sweatshirt. All four men were wearing masks at the time of the burglary.

The stolen items include costume jewelry, a Bluetooth speaker, tools and a watch valued at $200, police said.
