Bloomfield Cooling Center To Open; Scorching Weather In Forecast
Need to beat the heat in Bloomfield? Head down to the Civic Center from Thursday to Saturday.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Need to beat the heat in Bloomfield? Head down to the Civic Center from Thursday to Saturday.
With the National Weather Service forecasting a heat advisory for the area, the town will open the Civic Center at 84 Broad Street as a cooling center on the following days:
- Thursday, July 27 - 9 am to 9 pm
- Friday, July 28 - 9 am to 9 pm
- Saturday, July 29 - 9 am to 9 pm

Weather experts say 12 New Jersey counties are under a heat advisory from 11 a.m. Thursday through 6 p.m. Friday. Another five counties - Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union - are under an excessive heat watch from Thursday to Friday evening.
