Bloomfield Cops Make Serial Package Theft Arrest
Bloomfield police have arrested a Newark man suspected of stealing multiple packages in the township.
Bloomfield, NJ – Bloomfield police have arrested a Newark man suspected of stealing multiple packages in the township over the last weeks.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, Belleville officers assisted with the Wednesday arrest of Michael Ramos, 31.
Bloomfield police stated that the package thefts were reported in the south end of town during the afternoon hours.

The U.S. Post Office reportedly delivered the packages, which were left near the residents’ front doors, police stated.
Police investigators obtained video footage from one of the alleged theft locations which allegedly captured Ramos, authorities said.

Ramos later admitted to several of the alleged thefts, which were valued at more than $700, police stated.
None of the items have been recovered, police added.
Authorities charged Ramos with two counts of Theft of Moveable Property and six counts of Theft of Moveable Property.
“Package thefts are becoming an increasing problem in many municipalities and we need to all work together to bring the crimes to a quick close,” Police Director Samuel DeMaio stated.
