BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The number of new coronavirus cases continues to rise in Bloomfield, where 19 deaths have been linked to COVID-19 as of Thursday morning, authorities say.
Bloomfield had 360 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of 9 a.m., according to Essex County officials. However, the number of infected individuals is likely to be “much greater,” as the total only includes people who have been tested and whose lab results have been reported in the state’s data system.
Bloomfield declared a state of emergency on March 17 in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus.
