Bloomfield Council Appoints New Town Administrator
Matthew Watkins will take over the town's top admin position on October 5.

During their public meeting on Tuesday, the Bloomfield Township Council appointed Matthew Watkins as the new township administrator.
He is expected to start Monday, Oct. 5, at a $170,000 annual salary, plus benefits and a $500 per month vehicle allowance, NorthJersey.com reported.
According to Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia, Watkins brings more than 30 years of local government experience to the table, including positions in South Brunswick, Clifton and West New York.

Police Director Sam DeMaio will continue to act as interim administrator until Watkins takes over, township council members stated during the meeting.
