Bloomfield Police Department Releases 2015 'Cop Cards'
BPD issues new series of trading cards to build relationships with residents and children.
“I’ll trade you two 2015 Ford Interceptor cards for a mint-condition, 1996 Tony Servedio.”
The Bloomfield Police Department is continuing one of its most unique public relations efforts – the “Cop Card” program – with a new series of trading cards for 2015.
The baseball-card-style giveaways each feature an individual BPD officer or iconic police image, such as the department’s current patrol car, the Ford Interceptor.

Officers began handing out their Cop Cards on Wednesday. Each one has an individual local business sponsor, which will also be handing out cards to eligible children.
According to a release, police hope that the cards will help build new relationships with Bloomfield residents and children.
Police Director Samuel DeMaio commended the hard work of the program’s coordinator, Officer Ian Brundage.
“I am looking forward to building upon our relationship with the Board of Education through the use of the cards,” DeMaio stated in a release. “This program is an excellent way for the children of our community to get to know our officers and hopefully aspire to be police officers themselves as they progress through their education. The children participating in the program are the future of our township and hopefully the future of our police department.”
