Bloomfield Police Make Arrest After 2 Robberies On Bloomfield Ave: PD

A beauty supply shop and a discount store were robbed in Bloomfield. Police recently made an arrest in the case.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police have arrested a man in connection with two robberies that took place in the township, authorities announced Wednesday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, Jerome Brown, 58, of Newark, was arrested on warrants resulting from two separate armed robbery investigations. The robberies took place at Sally’s Beauty Supply and Dollar Tree – both located on Bloomfield Avenue.

SEPT. 13 Bloomfield police officers responded to Sally’s Beauty on Bloomfield Avenue on Sept. 13 after getting a report about a robbery. A store employee told police that a man approached her register with his hand in his back pocket and said: “Do not say anything and give me the money.” The employee stepped away, and the man stole about $400 from two cash registers, then he fled the scene, police said.

OCT. 5 Bloomfield police officers responded to the Dollar Tree at 135 Bloomfield Avenue on Oct. 5 after getting a report about a robbery. A store employee told officers that a man approached her and made a gesture like he had a weapon, then demanded that she open the cash register. As she reached for a phone, he smacked it out of her hand. Then he took $368 from the register and fled the scene, police said.
