Bloomfield School Board Election Results Certified: See The Winners

Benjamin Morse, Jill Fischman and Phyllis Gerber held onto their Election Day leads, according to the county clerk's office.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — That’s a wrap for the 2022 general election, Bloomfield.

This year’s election results have officially been certified, Essex County Clerk Chris Durkin confirmed Friday. Bloomfield voters headed to the polls on Tuesday to cast ballots in the 2022 general election. Although the mayor and town council races were unopposed, local voters also chose candidates for the Bloomfield Board of Education, as well as other candidates on the county, state and federal levels.

ELECTION RESULTS IN BLOOMFIELD

In Bloomfield, mayor Michael Venezia and town council members Wartyna Nina Davis, Ted Gamble and Richard Rockwell ran unopposed for three-year terms. No Republican candidates were nominated.

Meanwhile, five candidates ran for three seats on the Bloomfield Board of Education: Benjamin Morse, Jill Fischman, Phyllis Gerber, Joshua Trojak and Josefina Rosario-Simone.

With 35 of 35 districts reported, Fischman, Gerber and Morse have captured seats on the board. Here are the certified results from the Essex County Clerk's Office:

  • Benjamin Morse - 5,680 votes (22.74%)
  • Jill Fischman - 6,103 votes (24.43%)
  • Phyllis Gerber - 5,513 votes (22.07%)
  • Joshua Trojak - 3,056 votes (12.23%)
  • Josefina Rosario-Simone - 4,626 votes (18.52%)

OTHER RACES

Bloomfield voters got to choose a candidate for Essex County executive. Both candidates ran unopposed in the primary election: incumbent Joseph DiVincenzo Jr. (Democrat) and Adam Kraemer (Republican). Read More: Essex County Executive 2022 Election Results: DiVincenzo Victorious vs. Kraemer

Bloomfield voters also cast a ballot for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. The township is represented by Mikie Sherrill in the 11th Congressional district, where it moved after previously being split with the 10th district. Sherrill (Democratic Party) faces a challenge from Paul DeGroot (Republican Party) and Joseph Biasco (Libertarian Party). Read More: NJ-11 Election Results: Sherrill Defends Her Seat

Bloomfield voters also picked between two candidates to fill an unexpired term for a New Jersey Senate seat in the 28th Legislative district: Renee C. Burgess and Joy Bembry Freeman.
