Bloomfield Schools Hired Lobbyist To Get Federal Money
The Bloomfield school district was charged $7,500 for lobbying efforts last year.
Bloomfield was one of nine New Jersey school districts to hire a Caldwell lobbying firm last year in order to get federal money, according to a report from the news website, mycentraljersey.com.
Last year, Bloomfield was charged $7,500 by lobbying firm Millennium Strategies LLC, whose president is Ed Farmer, ex-chief of staff to Rep. Bill Pascrell, the report said.
The report also noted that it's growing trend for school districts to hire lobbyists, but some watch groups are concerned it may be an ethical quandry.
