Bobby Wells and The Infernos Return to Hometown Park for Concert

Brookdale Park concert slated for Aug. 4.

Bobby Wells will return home to Bloomfield with his band the Infernos for an August 4 concert in Brookdale Park.

The concert, part of their Revolution Evolution tour, “will be a great opportunity to rekindle old friendships and make new ones,” said Wells.

“I think (the Essex County Concert Series) is a wonderful community program where people can see us for free,” Wells said, regarding being able playing a show in his childhood park.

The tour, comprised of 16 shows, kicked off July 2, and will visit several New Jersey towns, including Nutley, Paramus and Brick Township.

The Infernos are the only band to play every single show in Essex County Concert Series since its inception.

“We are the last show band,” said Wells. “We are not just musicians. We are performers. When you see our show you forget about your bills, mortgage, credit card or health and you just have fun.”

Besides their music career, Wells and The Infernos have made conscious efforts to give back to the Essex County community they call home.

They recently sponsored and played the annual Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure on May 15 in West Orange.

The Bloomfield local has been studying music since he was five, arranging music while learning keyboards and singing. He earned a degree in music from Montclair State University and went on to become musical director of the Duprees, where he worked on hits such as “You Belong to Me" and "Have You Heard."

In 2002, Wells founded the Rotunda Records label. He also has negotiated a distribution partnership with Internet megastore Amazon.com which will allow The Infernos worldwide distribution of their three original recordings.

A key moment for the band occurred in 2002 when Kenny Simmons, formerly a member of The Commodores, joined the band.

“Kenny brings with him an aggressive showmanship that has turned The Infernos into the ultimate entertainment experience!” Wells said.
