BOE Suspends Bloomfield Teacher Accused Of Child Porn Possession
The 29-year-old elementary school teacher allegedly used his work and home computers to upload child pornography.

The Bloomfield Board of Education has suspended an elementary teacher accused of child porn possession.
During the board’s Aug. 25 meeting, Superintendent Sal Goncalves told board members that Nicholas K. Schumacher – who has been charged with using his work and home computers to upload child pornography – was “suspended without pay.”
NorthJersey.com reported that Board Attorney Nick Dotoli sent an email regarding Schumacher’s employment status:

“At this juncture, the supervisor of fine arts has been interviewing candidates for the music vocal vacancy… As of the time of this email, I anticipate that we will have a replacement for the first board meeting in September.”
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Nicholas K. Schumacher, a resident of Randolph, with Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Distribution of Child Pornography) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Possession of Child Pornography).

According to prosecutors, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that child pornography was being uploaded by Schumacher.
Authorities were allegedly able to trace the email addresses and Internet Protocol addresses to Schumacher’s home in Randolph and his workplace in Bloomfield.
