Car With Dog Inside Stolen From Bloomfield Supermarket: Police
A very good white Maltese named Baby had a very bad adventure this week, Bloomfield officials say.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — No one puts Baby in a corner car and drives away with her, according to Bloomfield police.
A white Maltese named Baby was dognapped Monday along with a car parked at the Stop & Shop at 8 Franklin St. about 10 a.m., police said.
A witness who flagged down cops reported seeing a man break the window of the black Infiniti before getting into the car and fleeing, Bloomfield police said.

The witness also saw a red Lexus following the Infiniti out of the parking lot, police said.
The Infiniti owner told police Baby was in the backseat of the car, which had been left running, officials said.

Fortunately for Baby, cops spotted the next day the Infiniti and in Kenilworth, officials said.
Detectives tried to stop the men they found trying to break into other cars, but they drove off in the Infiniti, intentionally hitting the unmarked police in an attempt to escape, said officials.
The driver finally crashed the Infiniti at an intersection in Hillside and three people were taken into custody by Hillside police, according to authorities.
Baby was found safe and returned, police said.
Authorities did not identify the three suspects. It's unclear if they were charged.
