While payments for 2025 relief have already begun being sent, there is still time to apply for it. Using the PAS-1, a combined application, allows users to apply for ANCHOR, Stay NJ, and Senior Freeze all in one go. Even if you aren't eligible for all three programs, you can still apply via this application.

When applying, seniors should prepare their Social Security Number, address, including County/Municipality Code + Block/Lot, their photo ID, all 2024 and 2025 income documentation (NJ-1040(s), 1099-R(s), and 1099-SSA(s)), and total billed 2024 & 2025 property taxes.

To qualify for New Jersey’s Senior Freeze program, applicants or their spouses must have been at least 65 years old by Dec. 31, 2025, or receiving eligible federal disability benefits by that date. Homeowners must have owned and lived in their residence since at least Dec. 31, 2022, remained there through Dec. 31, 2025, and had a total annual income of no more than $168,268 in 2024 and $172,475 in 2025.

Similar requirements apply to mobile-home owners who own their home and lease a site subject to fees. Vacation homes, rental properties, certain multiunit or commercial properties, tax-exempt homes and properties subject to payments in lieu of taxes are ineligible, according to the New Jersey Division of Taxation.

The deadline to file for 2025 property tax relief is Nov. 2.
