Car Theft Near Bloomfield Restaurant, Man Left Keys Inside: PD

A driver left his car running with the keys inside. It was stolen shortly afterwards, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A car theft took place on Broad Street near a Bloomfield restaurant earlier this month after a man left his vehicle running with the keys inside, authorities said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the theft took place on March 16 at 336 Broad Street near the Lucky Star Chinese restaurant.

The victim told officers that he saw a man enter his car and drive south on Broad Street and onto Osborne Street towards Glen Ridge. The driver’s phone and wallet were inside the vehicle, a blue, four-door, 2006 Acura TSX with New Jersey registration #D81JDE.

The vehicle was entered NCIC stolen, police said.
