Carjacker Steals Vehicle At Bloomfield Gas Station: Police
The carjacker held his hand inside the front pocket of his sweatshirt, gesturing that he had a weapon, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A carjacking recently took place at a gas station in Bloomfield, authorities say.
The carjacking happened at the Sunoco on Bloomfield Avenue on July 18, the Bloomfield Police Department reported Thursday.
According to Bloomfield police, the victim was sitting in the passenger seat of a 2018 Honda Accord, waiting for a friend to leave the gas station’s store, when a dark-gray, four-door vehicle pulled up next to the driver’s side of her car.

A man entered the victim’s car, then ordered her to get out. He held his hand inside the front pocket of his sweatshirt, gesturing that he had a weapon, but no weapon was actually seen, police said.
Both vehicles then sped away east on Bloomfield Avenue, police said.

The Accord was entered into the National Crime Information Center as stolen/felony. The carjacking is under investigation, Bloomfield police said.
