Based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway play, this film explores the friendship between a young farmer, Albert (Jeremy Irvine) and his horse, Joey. When World War I begins, Albert’s father (Peter Mullan) sells Joey to the Cavalry. Albert enlists and travels to France, hoping to find his beloved horse. Separately, Albert and Joey encounter all the perils and privations of the War to End All Wars.
