History being taught hands on at St. Thomas!!
Anyone can read from a Text Book but read History from a Newspaper from 1929 and blow the minds of students!
Read Social Studies from the Text Book? Sure that is an everyday task for some students, but the students in Mr. Petrillo’s 5th Grade Social Studies class at St. Thomas the Apostle School were treated to something different. The students were able to read, analyze and physically hold a newspaper from 1929. The students were then able to compare that newspaper which was the Newark Ledger with todays’ Star Ledger.
