Nearby Furniture Store Set To Shut Its Doors
semplice, a home furnishings store, on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair announced today that it will begin a closeout sale on June 2.

After 14 years, semplice is closing its doors at 465 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair.
The independently owned home furnishings shop has offered residents of Montclair and other neighboring towns a vast collection of home furnishings, accessories, and gifts in a 2,000-square foot loft-like setting.
The business sent out an email early Tuesday saying only: "The warmest thanks to all of our loyal fans & friends. It has been an amazing ride. Our next chapter begins. Stay tuned."
The email also announced that the business would be closed May 31 and June 1 before a blowout sale begins on June 2.

Over the last several years, semplice has garnered a lot of fans. Indeed, when Patch asked readers and writers last year about their favorite Montclair stores, semplice was mentioned as the best place to find last-minute gifts.
The announcement comes on the heels of other changes in downtown Montclair.

Just last week, The Honest Dog restaurant closed on Church Street and Tapastry, a restaurant that features a predominantly tapas menu, opened in its place.
