On Christmas night in 2015, Roberson Burney invaded a Bloomfield home, tied up a family and robbed them, prosecutors said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — An Essex County jury has convicted a Newark man on several charges in connection with a home invasion that took place on Christmas night in Bloomfield in 2015.

During the robbery, Roberson Burney, 60, of Newark, entered the home with what appeared to be a shotgun, tied up a woman and two girls and robbed them of two Amazon Kindles, credit cards and jewelry, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office stated Thursday.

Burney worked for a contractor that did work at the home in the fall of 2015, prosecutors said.
