Students pair with performing arts experts and meet teenagers from all over the state through NJPAC's Wells Fargo Jazz for Teens, the NJPAC Jeffrey Carollo Music Scholarship, the Summer Youth Performance Workshop, and the Young Artist Institute.
Preliminary auditions are also held for the NJPAC/New Jersey Youth Theatre (NJYT) Summer Musical Program, which will be performing the musical "Smoky Joe's Cafe" this summer.

“Our programs are among the best in the metropolitan area and serve the needs of all young people, from beginning artists to those with the most advanced experience,” said Sandra Bowie, NJPAC’s Vice President of Arts Education. “Rigorous arts training teaches skills that increase student confidence, not only in the arts, but also in life. We encourage every young person who has an interest in arts training to apply.”
Students are allowed to audition for more than one program, but there are specific rules governing the auditions that can be found here.
The programs are open to youth ages 13 to 18 and the auditions are held at NJPAC’s Center for Arts Education at 24 Rector St. in Newark. The auditions are open to students throughout Essex and other counties. Applications and more detailed information may be obtained online at artsed.njpac.org, or by calling 973-353-8009.
