Poets Against Trump In Essex County: Rally, Reading Planned

Express your opposition to President-elect Donald Trump in iambic pentameter at this New Jersey gathering of poets.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Do you want to express your opposition to President-elect Donald Trump in iambic pentameter? The Bloomfield-based Blk Grrrl Book Fair will host an open reading on the steps of Newark City Hall at noon on Jan. 15 at 12 p.m. to protest the Trump election.

According to event organizers, the rally will also “celebrate the values of United States, which include democracy and freedom.”

The reading is being held in conjunction with poets nationwide in an action spearheaded by Alan Kaufman, editor of The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry, and Michael Rothernberg co-founder of 100 Thousand Poets for Change, organizers stated.
