BLOOMFIELD, NJ — These Essex County activists are giving peace a chance… and inspiring change along the way. Last month, the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders gave Bloomfield-based New Jersey Peace Action a commemoration in honor of the group’s 60th anniversary during a presentation at the Hall of Records in Newark.

During the April ceremony, Freeholder At-Large Patricia Sebold presented the board’s commendation, recognizing the group’s “unwavering dedication to creating peace in Essex County and continuously advocating in communities throughout the nation.”

Sebold encouraged the organization to continue to support “positive, peaceful changes” in the future.
