“This is a special day, as tomorrow starts Restaurant Week,” announced Councilman Micheal Venezia at Saturday’s Restaurant Week kick off-party at the Orange Squirrel Restaurant.  “It’s going to be a great week for Bloomfield.”

Venezia thanked everyone who had made the event possible, including the Restaurant Week Committee: Francesco Palmieri, Linda Barucky, Nancy Zimmerman, Kathy DeMarino and Andreas Quesada.   He also thanked Freeholder Brendan Gill and Council members Carlos Bernard, Nicholas Joanow, Elias Chalet, and former Councilwoman Janice Litterio, as well as the event sponsors in attendance, such as Provident Bank Vice President Micheal Kahn.

“We’re very excited about this,” said Palmieri, event host and owner of the Orange Squirrel.  He said a tremendous amount of hard work and attention to detail had gone into making Restaurant Week possible.

“I’d like to add that Bloomfield has a tremendously diverse restaurant population,” said Zimmerman, who worked with Palmieri on the Restaurant Week Committee. “Come out and try the different kind of places you normally wouldn’t try.”
