Bloomfield residents should keep a careful eye on their homes this week in case it floods, especially if they've had issues in the past.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield residents should keep a careful eye on their homes this week in case it floods, especially if they’ve had issues in the past, officials say.
“Due to expected heavy rains and potential flash flooding for Tuesday, Jan. 9, we will be monitoring flood areas, especially in the previously affected areas of town,” Bloomfield officials stated in an advisory.
“We ask that residents plan for and monitor their homes during this period,” officials said.

Bloomfield vehicle owners should consider moving their cars to higher elevation areas if they’re in an impacted zone. School lots will be available from Tuesday starting at 5 p.m. until Wednesday at 7 a.m., officials said.
Residents can report street flooding to the town’s non-emergency number 973-680-4141. For all other emergencies, call 911.
