WHY GO:   The Bloomfield Department of Health & Human Services still has flu vaccine available. Call the Office of Public Health Nursing at 973.680.4058 to come in for a shot. It’s free with Medicare (Part B) and only a nominal fee for self-payers. It’s available for those 18 years and older. Please call with any questions.

WHY GO:   The Montclair Operetta Club will present Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tice Rice’s Rock Opera Jesus Christ Superstar on November 4, 5, 11, & 12 at 8pm, and November 6 & 13 at 2pm.  Based on a rock opera concept album project written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice before its first staging on Broadway in 1971, Jesus Christ Superstar chronicles the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. As seen through the eyes of his disciple, Judas Iscariot, who has become disillusioned with the movement, the musical is based loosely on the Gospels’ account of the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem, and ending with the crucifixion.

The Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra, Israel G. Herman, Conductor and special guest  Ieva Binderyte, Violin Soloist.   2 at 19 features Introduction and Rondo, Capriccioso Op. 28 by Camille Saint-Saëns and Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 4 (“Tragic”) in C Minor, D. 417. The title of the concert stems from the context surrounding each piece’s composition.
