Authorities Seize 2,700 Heroin Doses, $6,000 From Ocean County Home

A Lakewood man is facing multiple drug charges after the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office seized 2,700 doses of heroin and $6,000 in proceeds from drug sales from his home, Capt. Jack Sramaty said.

Virgilio Lopez-Olivera 23, 580 Marc Drive, was arrested at his home after detectives conducted a no-knock search warrant on the afternoon of Sept. 12. Police also seized a loaded Ruger 9mm handgun, a 2012 Chervrolet Cruz and a .22 caliber rifle during the course of the investigation, he said.

Lopez-Olivera was charged with three counts of possession of heroin, two counts of possession of heroin under one half ounce with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a controlled dangerous substance offense, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm, one count of distribution of heroin and one count of possession of heroin over one half ounce with intent to distribute, Sramaty said.

Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group, Southern Enforcement Unit conducted a cooperative multi-agency drug investigation with the Barnegat Township Police Department, Ocean Township Police Department, Jackson Township Police Department, the Lakewood Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, he said.

Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Southern Enforcement Unit, the Northern Enforcement Unit along with members of the various agencies, with the assistance of the Lakewood Township Police SWAT Team executed the no knock search warrant, Sramaty said.
